By connecting breath to movement, the physical postures of Yoga (asana) become a meditation in motion that fosters flexibility, strength, focus and an open heart— on and off the mat. My classes are mindful about alignment, yet joyous in their flow. You are, I believe, more powerful than you know, and perfect just as you are.

Although my classes are suitable for all levels, I do tailor the sequences, challenges and adjustments to the students in the room. Music and mantra add the harmonious element of vibratory sound. I offer these classes with profound gratitude to my beloved teachers Bhava and Laura and to others who have guided and inspired me to go deeper into my practice.

I have trained in Yoga therapeutics with Rachel Krentzman and Bhava Ram, in Anusara Yoga with Paisley Close and Maral Hadidi, in Iyengar Yoga with Marla Apt, and in Purna Yogi with Aadhil Palkhivala, and with many others during the International Yoga Festival in Rishikesh, India.

My group classes meet at the La Jolla Community Center, 6811 La Jolla Boulevard in La Jolla. I teach Deep Yoga Flow there on Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., and Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45. Every other month, I offer three-hour workshops on special themes such as: Love Your Hips; Yoga for a Happy Back; Release for the Neck and Shoulders; Meditation and Mantra, and Bliss: A Restorative Practice. My private classes specialize in bringing the gifts of Yoga to beginners and older adults. Certified in both Vedic Therapy and Yoga for A Happy Back methods, I also use Yoga and its sister science Ayurveda therapeutically to treat injuries, dysfunctions, and to bring clients back into balance. With steady practice and intention, people of any age can benefit from the multi-faceted practices of Yoga, gaining flexibility, strength, and balance while reducing stress, sharpening focus and discovering true peace of mind.
